Office Cornelis Vrolijk completely free from gas
Today the IJmuider Courant pays attention to the radical renovation of the office building on the Makreelkade in IJmuiden. After the renovation, which will take about six months, the office will be a lot more sustainable and ready for the future. For example, gas is no longer used. The new climate system uses the heat and cold of the freezer houses behind the office. The inside will be re-insulated and triple-glazed and also completely renovated. There will also be a heat pump on the roof.
The freezer houses were renovated last year. The freezer system was replaced with an energy-efficient one and 5,100 solar panels were installed. The renovation of the office will start in a few weeks and during the renovation the work will continue from a temporary accommodation on the Visserhaven.
